Meeting in Vestre Toten Lappelag

I'm attending two guilds; one in my village and one in Gjøvik; Gjøvik Quiltelag. Thursday we had a meeting in Vestre Toten Lappelag. We hade a pleasant evening with a little show-and-tell.
Winnie loves to sew and handwork is her speciality. She creates wonderful quilts, bags and tablecloths. Here is a tablecloth with a lot of hexagonal-flowers sewn on. Good ide!
Three-dimensional quilt. The pattern or the ide are from Eldrid Røyset Førde in Kameleonquilt. Visit her website to get more inspired.

Another one :-)
Look at the little hummingbird-button. Cute!
Winnies result from course with Kari Renolen last fall. Crazy in colors, but beautiful!!

Astrid with her topper.

Winnie with her ovenmitten.
Wenche is a proud grandmother. This quilt is going to be a present for her grandson :-)

Every year Wenche makes a christmaswish for fabrics, but it never happens. Until last christmas!!! But she had been futuristic and bought herself some fabrics and a jelly-roll.......
Backside of Winnies bag. Look at the weaving middle.
The front of the same bag.
Ruth loves cats and had bought some fabrics from Desiree (I think...)
Astrid made a tablerunner from leftovers after finishing her quilttop.

Imagine.......................

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Let the flower grow in your heart.

Pictures from April 2006

Sunset somewhere in Western Florida.
Roger and I drove from Rocklegde, not far away from Kennedy Space Senter, and to New Orleans; the "most unique" city in America. This picture is taken outside a breakfast-place in North Florida. My hair was really long at that time... ;-)
In St. Augustine I found this quiltshop called "Material Things". (I think they have moved the shop to Duval County.......).
Quilts at the porch.
A logcabin- and a house-quilt displayed inside the shop.
Mostly Bali-fabrics are used in this small quilt and the bag

A warm winter-greeting from me to you. Have a nice weekend. Take care!

Life's a beach

"Sisters are like angels,
they lift us up
to our own feet
when our own wings
have trouble remembering
how to fly"
"Hoping you will join me here where there is nothing to do but offer love, friendship, support and fun to each other. This journey is a tough one ... let's hold each other up, laugh when we can, cry when we need to, find hope, courage, strength and love with the help of one another. Fun and laughter is important .. it's good for the soul and it's Great medicine! Looking forward to seeing good friends and meeting new ones!
Angel kisses and hugs, Charlene"
Beautiful said and the right recipe for an good caring friend, I think.
I couldn't wait to get my last cancer treatment behind me so I could begin living a full, fun life again. Sure a cancer battle changes us forever and we have a new normal, but no reason for that to be a bad change or a bad normal! I want to live my life to the fullest. We can wallow in self pity and misery or we can CHOOSE to make the most of the hand we are dealt. Is life a bitch or is life a beach? Is the glass half empty or half full?
Having said all that, I admit to still waking up at times scared "it" could come back. I usually just calmly tell myself that worrying about it isn't gonna change the outcome. Until someone tells me differently, I do not HAVE cancer, I HAD it.
Of course I worrying about my three daughters; are they going to experience what I did? But then I think; they will be followed up by all sorts of doctors and people with plenty of resources.
Just like the hot flashes from Tamoxifen got on my nerves at first, now it's just a little annoying.
Yep, everything seems to turn out right.
Hopefully for everybody :-)

It's snowing and snowing and snowing......

Hello everyone!
I'm been busy with Gjøvik Quiltelags Blogg lately. But now I am proud to say; go and visit my local guild. Many exciting and beautiful project made of the guild members.
Here in Raufoss the snow has been falling down constantly. 1/2 metre last day, so I think it can stop now. To other snow-friends; keep warm and take care :-)

Idrettsgallaen 2009

Maria Mena sang fantastisk :-)

Årets lag: Håndballandslaget kvinner

Sanger som jeg ikke husket navnet på, fremførte en sang fra Mamma Mia.
