The Christmas Corner....

Wenche is sewing a great deal throughout the year. She attends "Kjerringtreffet", the Christmas Fair at Prestseter and in Fjellhallen, Gjøvik. Torunn and Ruth from Vestre Toten Lappelag are good friends. We went together to this fair and had a great time. Some money were spent on presents and we got inspired to make some of ourselves. We enjoyed coffee, waffles and a long chat as well.

Harvest time activities

On my way to my guild's sewing-together-Saturday I discovered this beautiful Autumn-theme.

I started my "Hokey Pokey"-quilt on this sewing-together-Saturday.

I bought a kit from A Quilter's Dream when I visited their stand in Long Beach this summer.

I love these Batiks and their colours.

 Synnøve celebrated her 21th birthday that very weekend. Both students came home from Trondheim for the weekend. And of course she got a birthday-cake from me; a jelly roll with a lot of whipped cream, set vanilla custard, fruits and jam. Yum-yum :-)

My middle daughter is growing up, she has started to drink coffee........

Tonight my guild Gjøvik Quiltelag is visiting Fabrikkutsalget i Brumunddal. We are looking forward to this visit. And I will take my camera with me, so I think you can enjoy our visit by looking at the pictures later.

Visit to Elverum Quiltelag; neightbouring guild

Yesterday six of the members of Gjøvik Quiltelag went to visit Elverum Quiltelag. Elverum Quiltelag is also celebrating their tenth anniversary this year.

They are going to have a exibition later this autumn. And a big lottery. This quilt is one of the main prizes in the lottery.

They also have a "Show-and-tell"- part in their meetings.

Look at this lovely quilt!!!! Bjørg made it after an Australian pattern.

Trine Bakke from "Lappe Makeriet" visited Lillehammer LappeLaug

The author of this book; Trine Tolfsby Bakke, came to Lillehammer LappeLaug (LLL), the local guild for Lillehammer district, on Friday last. Gjøvik Quiltelag was invited to join the members of LLL to be present on this evening.
Trine is also one of the three owners of Lappe Makeriet at Bærums Verk.
Trine told us about her way of working with fabrics and her way to find time to sew. It was entertaining and funny :-)

This panel with a couple in Norwegian national costumes is taken from a tablerunner and sewn into a bag.

This is made of an embroidery tapestry. My mother has one of the same at her home in Lofoten. I think Trine bought hers at a flee marked :-)
